Guy’s Night Committee Members Needed
Attention current 5th grade parents – we are looking for parents to serve on a Guy’s Night committee. Guy’s Night is a father/son evening of bonding and learning about physical development, personal care, and other issues surrounding young adulthood. This program is for 6th grade boys and a male parent/guardian only.
Committee members can be fathers or mothers who will organize the fall event, which, in the past, has included dinner, decorations, hiring an IUSD-approved speaker, arranging for an MC for the evening, coordinating a trivia game and prizes, and a photo booth. Despite past traditional activities, the committee is free to organize the event however it chooses with the use of the a PTA-provided budget and donations the committee members will seek out.
If a committee cannot be formed, the event will only entail a speaker who will present information in the MPR to the boys and an accompanying male parent/guardian.
If you would like to take part in the committee, please email jodielshoffman@gmail.com BY FRIDAY, MAY 4, who will arrange for a time for the group to meet prior to Memorial Day Weekend.
Thank you!
WoW PARTICIPANTS REQUESTED
Worlds of Westpark (WoW) will be on Friday, June 1, 2018 (5-8 PM). We need your help to make this event successful!
Participate in a group cultural performance or walk the cultural attire runway!
Represent your country by hosting a booth: showcase artifacts, traditions, games, activities, and/or “a taste” specific to the countries of your ancestry. Or, we encourage you to invite a cultural association representing your country of origin to set up a booth at WoW.
We only have 4 countries signed up to host booths: Argentina, Greece, India, and Philippines. So we can prepare our “passports,” your booth participation will need to be confirmed by May 11th.
For pictures of some of last year's booths, more information, and event sign-up sheet, please see the attached file.
