Theatre Students in Action!

Virtual Edition: The show must go ON (LINE)!

Theatre Arts Program /2020-21/ English Department, George W. Hewlett High School

Socially-distanced with STYLE. Students in Theatre Arts rehearse in live, hybrid and remote modalities everyday.

Even though the lights on Broadway are temporarily dimmed, Hewlett High School Theatre students have found ways to keep theatre alive. Remaining socially distanced and wearing masks, students have been able to improvise skits and perform scenes with classmates on stage in the Little Theater. Students who are learning online have participated via Google Meet. Student films are being produced that will be showcased later this year!

Arts Education is Essential

It is imperative that all students have access to an equitable delivery of arts education that includes theatre, dance, media arts, music, and visual arts that supports their educational, social, and emotional well-being, taught by certified professional arts educators in partnership with community arts providers.

Showcases

Students have been exploring storytelling live and on film during Theatre classes this year. Students from all levels will be sharing work at our upcoming showcases in March!
