Kindergarten
This week in Kindergarten we learned about robotics and technology! We had a great time learning about coding, programming and organizing our data to move the robots. We also had a great time using the merge cubes and how augmented reality works.
Our favorite thing was Field Day!! Thank you to all of the parents that helped out on this big day! We greatly appreciate your support to help make this event possible.
First Grade
Ms. Molnar’s class had so much fun with field day this week! Thank you to all of the parents who helped out and the specials teachers for putting it all together!
Mrs. Beckman’s class had a great week of reviewing capital letters and punctuation in reading and adding tens and ones in math. Have a great weekend everyone!
Second Grade
In Second grade we have had a very fun but very busy week! Field day was so much fun! We would like to thank the wonderful specials teachers and volunteers for making sure it ran as smooth as possible.
Second graders Dalia (277), Aarit (100.7), Daniel (118), Anaya (175), Carlos (153.5), Vivek (116) and Shiah (116) got to participate pie your teacher for AR points. They made their teacher very proud and smelled like whipped cream for hours.
Third Grade
Fourth Grade
Fourth grade has been hard at work this week! We completed I-Ready testing. We also had an amazing time at Field Day! Fourth grade is excited to kick off their end of year festivities with our Teddy Bear Picnic on Monday! Students can come to school dressed down with their favorite stuffed animal and blanket on Monday!
Mrs. Michaud’s class also had an amazing time researching jobs and colleges for their Big Dreams projects. These projects were presented on Friday; photos to come next week!
Fifth Grade
Ms. Berray and Ms. Jensen’s classes have been working on a play about The American Revolution. Students have been researching important events, writing scripts, creating backgrounds, and even making props for their scenes.
This week was also field day! Thank you for donations for items for field day and donations of time. It made such a difference!
Sixth Grade
Gajus- I can’t believe the year is already just about over! I have enjoyed teaching your children this year and I hope they enjoyed the year as well. Students in Pre-Algebra have been working on Algebra I skills to help them prepare for next year. Students taking 7th grade math have been working to finish the 7th grade math standards to be ready for 8th grade math next year. I want to wish everyone a fabulous summer and good luck for the future!
In Spanish students learned about Hispanic Carnivals and worked creating a Hispanic Carnival mask. Please see some of the carnival masks photos attached! Right now, we are working on our final project: a puppet show. Students are creating a stage, making puppets, and an entire Spanish conversation/script for their puppet show. They will be performing this week and I will post pictures in our next Newsletter.
I also want to take a moment to express my gratitude for your thoughtfulness during Teacher Appreciation Week!!! … from the lovely cards and letters, presents, gift cards, and flowers to the yummy treats… Thank you all so much!!! Also, special thanks to our PVO for everything they did during the week!
Ms. Finsterle had her students read about the titanic and then write a narrative based on the non-fiction text they read. The students’ work has been compiled into a digital book. Feel free to check it out: http://bit.ly/osstitanic.
Art Elective- Ms. Kish- Topic: Engineering Greats! Students chose between the iconic Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, California or the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France to create a mini-design using only straws, scissors and glue.
