Garden Day May 20th
We have been approved for a weekend work day in the garden this Saturday, May 20th, from 10-5pm.
The biggest project is for the garden beds to be rebuilt. We are ordering recycled plastic boards that will last the next 50 years. A crew built a couple of these beds at the harvest festival last fall in front of the garden but we need a lot more.
If you are interested in volunteering here are the options that will be available:
- painting garden signs
- painting garden markers
- painting garden art
- cutting boards
- measuring boards
- drilling boards
- building garden beds
- dropping off supplies (tools)
- planting seedlings/seeds
- carrying bags of garbage/compost out of garden
- weeding and watering
If anyone has any tools we could borrow such as saws, drills, circular saws, etc. we would really appreciate that! Even if you cannot come to the event you could drop off the tool at an earlier date if possible.
Bring kids and friends! Lets get this garden growing and beautiful!
Let us or Kirsten (kirsten@brooklyncompass.org)know if you are definitely interested in volunteering or have tools to share.
