A Note from Mr. Anderson
Spring is just around the corner and we are welcoming it with open arms! We have been washing hands, cleaning desks, wiping down surfaces, and disinfecting as much as we possibly can this flu season and we are ready for it to be done! We appreciate the efforts in helping to battle the flu bug this year!
Spring Break will be March 16-20. Take the time to relax, unwind, and just spend some time away from the hustle and bustle of school! We will be back at it Monday, March 23 and I promise you, the end of year quickly hits us like a ton of bricks!
Looking ahead to next fall and the 2019-20 school year, we are hosting an incoming Kindergarten Parents Information Night on Thursday, March 5 at 6pm. Please share the information listed later in the Minute with anyone you know who has a child that will be five years old by September 15 of this year. Online registration for Kindergarten (and Developmental Kindergarten) opens on March 9 - share the news!
I always enjoy seeing so many parents attend Parent Teacher Conferences. We really are a team, and your students' success depends on your input! It has been a fantastic year so far and the kids are awesome! We are fortunate to have such great partnerships in education!
Happy Spring!
Sincerely,
Ben

Box Tops For Education
Box Tops made the switch to the app! A few products still have the actual Box Top on them, and if you have some of those, they are still accepting them until their expiration date, so keep clipping and sending them in! However, most new products now will just have the Box Tops logo and you'll need to have the Box Tops for Education app to give our library credit. It's a quick, simple process--I just did it myself to see! When you download the app, it'll ask what school you're collecting for. You'll need to type Anderson Elementary, whether your child attends Morris or Anderson, because our school account was set up before Morris existed. Anderson and Morris libraries split the proceeds equally each year. There are LOTS of Anderson Elementary Schools around the country, so be sure to find ours. When you've downloaded the app, you'll just need to scan your receipts each time you shop. It keeps a running tally of the money we've collected so far. Box Tops have made a huge impact on the number of books we get for our libraries each year, so your time and effort in getting the app and scanning receipts does make a difference. Thanks so much!

First Grade Vocal Music Concerts
Students in Current, Garton, Schlenker, Thomann, & Wiltgen's classes will perform at the 6pm concert. Mrs. Anderson will call them to the warm up room at 5:50pm.
Students in Caffrey/McComas, Hartman, Jones, and Shield's classes will perform at the 7pm concert. As you are the second group performing, please do not arrive earlier than 6:40pm. This will allow time for the other group to clear the space. Students will stay with their families until Mrs. Anderson calls them to the warm up room at 6:50pm.
As a reminder, NO food or drinks (including water) are allowed in the auditorium. We want to keep it looking fantastic for as long as possible. Please remember to stay off the stage area, as there will be instruments and props for students to use. After each concert, Mrs. Anderson will announce the locations to pick up your children. If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Anderson at andersona@bfschools.org

A few notes from Ms. Jen
Please continue to read my weekly update emails so you are aware of everything going on here at Morris. With 730 students in the building, those emails really are the best way to get the information out to everyone at the same time. I appreciate the time it takes to read them.
Have a great month of March - We will be saying goodbye in May before you know it.
