This summer is surely going by fast and I can’t believe it’s already August! It is great to be able to connect with our community again and enjoy the summer in Paynesville. The concerts at Veterans Park were a huge hit! We would like to thank Paynesville Community Education for hosting an awesome concert series. We also would like to thank the Green Roof Area Center, Koronis Kafe, Beats-U-Cooking, and the ROSE Center for providing great food during the concerts.

In recent news, the Board of Directors updated the Chamber Bylaws on a unanimous vote making it possible for Board members to run for two consecutive terms. The old Bylaws only allowed one 3 year term with a mandatory 1 year break between any possible future terms. "Since 3 years is quite a short turn around and our current challenges finding members whom would like to run for the board, we thought we should evaluate the current Bylaws and compare them to other Paynesville Area Non-Profits" said Treasurer Matt Dickhausen. "Technically this would be my last year" said President Tami Stanger. Since many events last year had to be cancelled, many of the board members haven't directed any events. "This was really the first year I was able to see the whole Town and Country Days event from start to finish", said Tami Stanger. In a unanimous vote, the board approved the change to make current board members eligible to run for another 3 year term without a 1 year break. Current Paynesville Area Chamber of Commerce By-Laws are available upon request.

The board and myself are in the process of providing a Community App for mobile devices. This app will feature push notifications, a business directory, local events, community calendar and more. We wanted to gain ideas/thoughts from our members before we go ahead with the purchase. Is this something our members would like? Please let me know your thoughts by emailing me at Jacob@paynesvillechamber.org

You can download an example app by searching "Arcadia Chamber" on the App Store or Google Play

We would appreciate your help!

I lived in Paynesville majority of my life. When I started my family; I knew this is the town I want to raise my 4 children. Mitchell 23, Isabel 19, Owen 17, and Emmitt 13. I work at Casey's (the older one) for 15 years and coach gymnastics for 11 years. I enjoy getting involved with events from family games to sporting events to going out with friends. When asked about joining the chamber I thought this was a great time in my life that I should get more involved and give back to the community. I like to see people come together and have a great time making memories.
