Principal's Message
Thank you so much for the cards, signs, emails, posters, and certificates you provided to teachers in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week. Your support of our school is part of what makes Pleasant Union a great place to be! Happy Mother's Day to every PUE mom! We hope that you have a wonderful time with your family this weekend! For families with rising Kindergarten students, please mark your calendar for Wednesday, May 27 at 5:00pm. Our Kindergarten Orientation will be a virtual program via Google Meet. We will send you the link and presentation materials soon.
Celebrating Our Retirees
I want to take the time to honor and celebrate this year's retirees. We have 3 staff members who have provided stellar service to children and families that we want to acknowledge.
Track 4, First Grade Teacher, Mrs. Susan Whitley is retiring after over 30 years as an educator. She has served PUE for 5 years.
Mrs. Deborah Andrews is retiring after 28.6 years of service as an educator. She served the Pleasant Union community for 20 years as a Special Education Teacher.
Mrs. Kay McEwen is an Instructional Assistant for Track 1, First Grade. She is retiring this year and has worked at Pleasant Union since 1996.
We are very sad to see these dedicated staff members leave Pleasant Union. But we celebrate that they will enter a new phase of their lives with their families. Thank you for all you have done to support our students, staff, and families during your tenure with us.
Announcements
Bus Riders for the 2020-2021 School Year
Though we do not yet know what impact COVID-19 might have on school schedules for the next school year, we need to begin planning bus routes. Bus rider registration will open on May 11. Students who rode the bus in 2019-20 will be notified via School Messenger on May 12. If your child is eligible for transportation and will be riding the bus to the same school next year, you don’t need to take any action. If you need to update your bus service needs for the 2020-21 school year, please go to www.wcpss.net/busrider and let us know.
Families Not Returning To PUE
If your family is moving out of our base attendance zone or if your student will be attending a charter or private school for 2020-21 school year, please email jbaginski@wcpss.net.
