Holy Cross Catholic School

From the Desk of Mrs. Wagner

October 15, 2021

This week has been full of emotions, both joy, and sadness. Joy can be found daily in our school, but this week brought an overwhelming amount of joy as we took the students, many their first time, to Eucharistic Adoration. Watching the students spending time adoring the true presence of Christ in the Eucharist was a special moment. Witnessing our young students building a relationship with Jesus Christ is a true gift. We are blessed to be in a Catholic school where we get to be part of their faith formation.

As this was a joyous moment, we also had to say goodbye to a loved one. As our community gathered in honor of Pedro Alvarez today, we were able to adore the Holy Eucharist together as one family in a different celebration. Although both traditions of our Church bring various emotions, it is the Holy Eucharistic that unites us to Jesus and His Church. Jesus welcomes us to the table and in the end, he welcomes us to our eternal home. We ask God's new angel to watch over our Holy Cross Community as we promise to watch over the Alvarez family. Until we meet again and are reunited as brothers and sisters. Rest in Peace, Pedro.

Prayer for Eternal Rest (The Requiem Prayer)

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
~Amen~

Mrs. Anette Growney's Farewell

It has been a blessing to have been a part of the beautifully diverse, welcoming community that Holy Cross has been known to be. I'm so grateful to the administration and faculty for carrying my load and overall support. Please receive deep gratitude for the prayers of all the faculty, staff, students, and families which all have been powerful and fruitful. As I will keep lifting all of you Holy Cross community members in prayer and cheer you as you keep shining Christ's Light, I hope to see you soon at school and parish events. You are forever in my heart. Hasta luego. God’s peace & blessings, Sra. Growney

Adoration

The time you spend with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is the best time that you will spend on earth. Each moment that you spend with Jesus will deepen your union with Him and make your soul everlastingly more glorious and beautiful in heaven, and will help bring about an everlasting peace on earth.” – St.Teresa of Calcutta
