MARSHFIELD PUBLIC SCHOOLS
Superintendent's Corner, September 10, 2022 #bettertogether
Welcome Back Wednesday
"Welcome Back Wednesday" is an integral part of our SEL-focused "Start with Hello" program. Over the past few years, we have started our school year with a focus on this program as we looked to establish a welcoming environment for all of our students.
Having the Marshfield PD & FD joining us as we greet students has been a big part of this program and we cannot thank them enough.
In addition, during the first few weeks, the district engages in other student/staff focused activities including:
“Just say Hello”
Wear name tags during the school day & say “hello” by addressing others by name.
“Attitude of Gratitude”
Create an attitude of gratitude in your school community - your classroom, your cluster or your building.
“Marshfield Spirit Day ”
Wear your Marshfield Gear.
Wall of Honor Ceremony
The special ceremony will take place on September 22nd at Haddad's Ocean Cafe.
Please join us in celebrating all they have done for Marshfield students as we Please see the invitation for more information!

Town of Marshfield & Boys and Girls Club- 9/11 Memorial
PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDAR! On Sunday, September 11, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at the Marshfield Boys and Girls Club, 37 Proprietors Drive, there will be a ceremony to remember this tragic day especially those who died on September 11, 2022.
The Town of Marshfield has been selected as one of the 75 communities designated as a lead public memorial location in America for the 2nd Annual 9/11 Day Flag of Honor Across America Memorials on September 11, 2022. We are proud to be able to gather in Marshfield and keep America’s promise that those tragically killed by terrorists on September 11, 2001 are never forgotten.
Launched in memory of the 20th Anniversary of that tragic day, the first 9/11 Day Flag of Honor Across America Memorials took place in 60 communities in 25 states on Saturday, September 11, 2021, also called 9/11 Day, a National Day of Service and Remembrance, and Patriot Day. This new annual memorial was designed and launched by Global Youth Justice, Inc., and selected by the United States government as one of only five official federal projects to support and co-launch on the 20th Anniversary of 9/11 Day in 2021.
Despite launching in the middle of a global pandemic, the first 9/11 Day Flag of Honor Across America Memorial Project was the largest national multi-site 9/11 Day Project on the 20th Anniversary of 9/11 Day on September 11th, 2021, and since Federal 9/11 Day began. In 2021, there were 60 official public sites, and 60 communities united to each hold a 9/11 Day Public Memorial in memory of 50 different victims from the 2,983 women, children, and men who lost their lives on 9/11/01 (2,977 victims).
