Chapman Update

Good evening Chapman Families!

Thank you to all the parents and staff that attended the PTO meeting last Tuesday! Also, thank you to the parents that came to have coffee with me last Thursday. We were able to talk about a lot of different things, ask questions, and laugh a lot! I am excited for next month!

The Ground Breaking Ceremony for the new gymnasium at Chapman will be next Monday, September 24th! We are all so excited for this event! Feel free to join us for a short ceremony at 10 AM.

The Color Run is coming up on September 29th at 10AM!

See below for the forms for the color run! Don't forget that the class that raises the most money gets to cover ME in color at an all-school assembly!

It is that time a year where we have to be very careful about sending our students to school when they are not feeling well. Remember that students should be fever free for at least 24 hours before returning to school. If you have any questions, please feel free to call us and we can help in making a decision.

Wednesday, October 10th is Walk to School Day. If possible, students are encouraged to walk or bike to school!

October 9th is the first Released Time Bible Class. Remember you need a permission slip to attend this monthly class from 1:30-3:00. If you have any questions, please contact Jay Cooper at 734-262-1528.

Finally, a big thank you to the Rockwood Police and EMS for quickly tending to a student after school on Friday. A student fell off their bike and had minor injuries. I appreciate the patience and concern of our families as it was a slower release of cars from the parking lot than normal.

Please like our Facebook page Chapman Elementary (SEARCH FOR @GSDChapman on Facebook or follow this link ) and follow us on Twitter @guizzettiland #GSDChapman. This is a great way to stay informed of school happenings throughout the year.

The theme for Chapman Elementary this year is “Count on Chapman!” We will be working with students, families and staff with “Count on me, Count on you” statements. This will be rolled into our Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) system as well. We will have an additional hashtag for Facebook and Twitter to follow- #CountOnChapman

Count On Me,

Leslie Guizzetti
