Hybrid Learning Schedule
As we prepare to return to In-Person Learning with the Hybrid Model, please be on the lookout for updated procedures and information from the building and from the district.
General Return Information:
- Tuesday, January 19th is a Junior High Remote Planning Day (no Go Live sessions for JH students)
- Hybrid Schedule for all classes Starts Monday, January 25th
- Self-Contained Special Programs at MU (ISP/CC) will start In-Person Hybrid Learning on Monday, January 25th
- Please take a look at this Hybrid Schedule document for information regarding the first week of the Hybrid Learning schedule. This document outlines the details of what each learning group will be doing that first week.
- Please also view this Hybrid Learning document that outlines plans and expectations during Hybrid Learning.
*Note the schedule on Tuesday/Friday afternoon: periods 1 & 2 are switched. This is to accommodate some scheduling needs of students district wide.
Hybrid Learning Schedule
Update on Devices
The district ordered over 10,000 devices to enable and support 1:1 for all students in grades 5-12 back in August. Unfortunately, the entire order has not been filled as of yet.
What does this mean?
Remote Learners: You will continue learning using whatever device you have been using throughout. No changes here.
In-Person Learners: You will not have devices while inside Murphy until all students can go 1:1. We will use devices in specific classes for interventions as we would in previous years. All students will have devices and we will run our initial Hybrid plan for all being 1:1 as soon as we can. We cannot have students bring in personal devices due to security and network reasons and it is not feasible for a uniform learning structure.
Building Readiness/Cleaning
Some additional measures that have been added to increase student safety include the following:
Signage is up around the building - signs hung on the walls with red arrows and yellow tape on the floors indicating directional patterns. In-Person students will receive a map from their teachers. This map will also be reviewed in all classes next week.
Please note entrances for In-Person learners.
ALL students who are brought to school by car or who walk will enter Door 2.
ALL students who are bussed to school will enter Door 19 and Door 20.
Drinking fountains have been turned off to avoid the spread of germs. Students are asked to bring their own filled water bottles from home to use while they are at school. Straws are encouraged to help keep masks on as much as possible.
Student restrooms will be regularly checked before school, during the time students are in the building and extensively cleaned each afternoon/evening. Bathrooms will be limited to two students at a time in our small bathrooms and three students in our larger bathrooms. Cleaning and sanitation will follow CDC guidelines, including frequent cleaning of high touch points. Thorough cleaning will occur each evening. Electrostatic sanitizing sprayers have been purchased to assist with sanitation. EPA approved disinfecting products will be used to disinfect hard surfaces throughout the day and during evening cleaning.
Health Needs
Masks are required for all students and staff while in the building. ***Please send an extra mask in a paper bag or baggie for your student to change into a fresh mask if needed, they may then put the used one in the bag to take back home. Mints can be a refreshing way to help students tolerate their masks if they are still working on adjusting to wearing masks. Gators are not allowed as masks per district guidelines.
Hand sanitizer - The district has supplied hand sanitizer and there are automatic dispensers scattered around the building as well as pump dispensers in each classroom. Students may not care for the smell. If your student would like to carry their own hand sanitizer, that is a personal choice you may make.
Daily Health Certification is required for ALL students EVERYDAY they are here in person. If your student’s Health Certification is not completed, it will delay their participation in class. As students arrive we will be checking their status, if the daily certification has not been completed online, they will be instructed where to go and they will not get to go to class until they have had a temperature check and the questions have been completed with staff. The health secretary will be running reports first thing in the morning and sending reminders, the final report will be at 7:45.
Eating breakfast will be more important than ever, since students will not be eating while they are at school. Hunger can cause stomach pain or headaches which are Covid-19 symptoms and we would love to be able to keep your students in school and not have to send them home for quarantine.
School Medical Requirements
SCHOOL MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS
If your child will be returning to in person learning, all medical documentation required by the State of Illinois must be submitted to our building nurse prior to the first day of school. All 6th grade students must have a 6th grade physical and have received the Tdap and Meningococcal vaccines.
All students who are new to the district, regardless of grade, are required to have a physical and a complete list of vaccinations on file with the nurse. If you are new to Illinois, a vision exam is also required.
Students who do not meet the State of Illinois health requirements, will be excluded from in person learning. Students will not be excluded from remote learning.
Health forms can be submitted via email to gjaskula@sd308.org OR faxed to 630-608-5191. Forms may also be brought to Murphy Junior High during normal business hours, prior to the first day of in person learning.
MEDICATION AT SCHOOL
If your child requires medication while at school, please have the appropriate forms completed by a physician. Parents should bring the medication to school with the appropriate completed forms. Please do not send medication to school with your child.

The launch of our Ecard barcodes has gone so well! We’re now ready to start Phase 2 of our partnership, which is getting an actual physical card into the hands of every kid in SD308!
The Ecard barcode that you received from your school librarian will not allow you to check out actual physical materials, but...getting a card is easy!
Just visit either campus of the library and show them your driver’s license or state ID. This is all you need if your ID has your current address on it.
If your ID does not have your current address, then please bring one of the following items as proof of residency:
*Utility bill dated within 60 days (electronic version accepted)
*Rent receipt dated within 60 days
*Mortgage documents
*Vehicle Registration
*Checking account
*Bank Statement
*FOID card
*Lease
** Please note that handwritten letters will not be accepted as proof of residency.**
***IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are not a resident of the library district, but you are still a student in the 308 school district, you may still receive a STUDENT card (with an expiration date of June 1, 2021) which will allow you to check out up to 20 items at a time. Simply visit the circulation desk of either campus with a parent or guardian with an ID.***
Did you know that the public library has more than just books? Perhaps you’d like to listen to some new music, or watch a new movie? Maybe you’d like to start a book club with your friends or neighbors? Are you looking for STEAM activities to do with your children or your scout troop? The public library has everything you need!
We encourage you to explore the library website, or visit either campus in person, to learn more! Click on the link below to visit the website.
