Term 2 Week 6

Kia ora

Wow! It's week 6 of term already.

We hope that you all had a wonderful long weekend.

After so much rain last week we are hoping that the sun shines and wind blows to help dry out the Adventure Zone, top field and sandpit so that we can enjoy playing outside at playtimes. Unfortunately the Northern Zones Junior Cross Country has fallen foul of the bad weather and has now been postponed until next term.

Life Education

You will have seen that Harold's mobile classroom has arrived on site. Unfortunately Harold has developed a runny nose so we have not been able to meet him yet. Hopefully we will be able to make our first visit to see Harold and his friend Marsha tomorrow, followed by our second lessons next Monday.

If you haven't already, please pay $6 via Kindo to cover the cost of Harold's visit.

Rakau Nui Bake Sale tomorrow - Thursday

Rakau Nui students have organised a bake sale to raise funds for their annual leavers events. This will be held tomorrow during morning tea and lunch time playtimes. If your child would like to purchase some baking please send them with their money in a named wallet/purse or plastic bag. We will escort the children and support them with their purchases.

Home and School Matariki Disco

This Friday (10th June) is the last day to purchase tickets for the Matariki Disco being held on Friday 17th June. You will have received a seperate flyer with full information but please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any queries.

Just In Case bags

Earlier in the year we sent a bag home with each child 'Just In Case' to support them if they had to learn from home during Hybrid Teaching and Learning. We would be grateful if you could now return these bags with the contents (small whiteboard, coloured pencils, normal pencils, whiteboard pen and 'Everyday' red and white book). Thank you!

Changes to library days

Home groups will now be attending the library on their own, once a week.

Room 6 tamariki (Rebecca's home group) will go to the library on Wednesdays.

Room 7 tamariki (Miss Jensen's home group) will go to the library on Thursdays.

Jumping June

You will have received (via your child's book bag) some information about our school wide fundraising event in aid of the Heart Foundation. Jumping June will involve us participating in a range of jumping and skipping activities in PE over the next few weeks, and culminate in a whole school event when we all jump and skip together to raise funds. Please contact alisha@paparangi.school.nz for more information.

Book Sale!

Please see the poster below shared by some of our Rakau Nui students.

How can we help?

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or wonderings. We can respond via email or phone, or a quick verbal chat at drop off or pick up time.
