What We Did This Week
We worked on the letter Vv this week, the number 15, and all of the shapes and colors. We've also started reading sentences every day as part of our morning work, with each sentence including sight words from the kindergarten list.
This week we started our plant unit. We learned what is a plant (a plant is a special thing that leaves help to make it's own food), what plants need to help it grow (soil, air, water, sun, space), the parts of a flower (flower or bud, leaf, stem, and roots), the different types of plants we eat (we eat the roots, leaves, fruit, stems, seeds, and flowers of plants), and the life cycle of a flower. We also looked at seeds under a microscope and looked for some similarities and differences in the seeds. We then put our seeds in some soaked paper towels and are going to observe their growth in ziplock bags before moving them to soiil.
