If February is a month to focus on love and caring, Lowell is right in step. As we get to know your children better through this school year, we are aware of how important it is to focus on our students one by one. We look at lots of data—academic and behavior, growth and proficiency. But it’s the conversations with individual kids that warm our hearts and keep us coming to work each day. Knowing their sources of happiness, and understanding their struggles while witnessing their resiliency, is the light and joy of our jobs. Stay connected with your child’s teachers and us, so we can continue to support each student’s needs, whatever they may be. Have a terrific month of February!

PBIS FEBRUARY BOOSTER

During the month of February our focus will be COOPERATION. We will be looking for cooperation in the classroom, playground, and hallways.

It will look something like this...

SNOWMAN: Each homeroom will receive a paper snowman. When the class, small group, or individual student displays cooperative behavior, the teacher will color one part of the snowman - eyes, nose, mouth, buttons. When the snowman is finished the class will earn a sledding party during gym class. These sledding parties will take place during PE class at the end of the month.

Permission slips will be shared soon.

Please consider reinforcing the theme of cooperation at home...Feel free to be creative!

Thank you to everyone that came to Movie and Game Night back on the 21st. It was so much fun despite the technical difficulties we had with the projector lol.

We are so excited for the dance on the 11th! It will be from 6-8pm in the Gym. There will be free games and crafts and of course the bounce house and face painter. The best part (we think) will be the indoor snowball fight and Gifts of Time Raffle! You can win a chance to ride to school in a police car!!

Remember that you need to stay with your child(ren). You cannot drop them off and leave. While we will have chaperones, we need you to be mindful of your student(s) and remind them of the 3B’s: Be Safe, Be Respectful and Be Responsible.

The Winter Dance Planning committee is still looking for volunteers and we meet on 2/2 and 2/9, Wednesday from 6:30-7:30 in the Lowell Library.

Culver’s Night is February 8 from 5-8pm at the Grandview location.

Our next PTO meeting is on February 15 from 6:30-7:30pm in the Lowell library.
