New York State News...
Census 2020 update
Census 2020 officially begins April 1, 2020. Households will receive an invitation to participate in the census. Three options will be available to respond: online, by phone, or by mail. Libraries, particularly public libraries, will be on the front lines answering questions, assisting patrons with completing the census online, providing additional information on why the census matters…and it does matter!
Upcoming PD opportunities:

In support of ESSA, districts are working to create environments in which all students can succeed and thrive in school no matter who they are, where they live, where they go to school, or where they come from. This full-day, interactive workshop, will give educators the opportunity to work directly with Dr. Bryant Marks, participate in breakout sessions led by local leaders and reflect on your own practices.

Coaching Copyright: Nov 19
This workshop is designed to give the “copyright librarian” a framework and some fundamental tools for addressing any copyright inquiry. The framework will help distinguish important facts of the situation from those that are less relevant and will locate fair use in an overall approach that can facilitate conversations with users. In addition, we will examine a risk-assessment approach to copyright issues that offers a mission-focus, strategic way to consider copyright decision-making.
