Happy New Year!
Becky & Erin
On Time to School Parents, we need your help! Since winter break, we have seen an increase in the number of students arriving late to school. District 25, recognizes the impact of regular school attendance on educational performance. It is also important for students to have a good start to their day by arriving on time. The truancy process is begun when a student has been absent or tardy for more than 5% of school days. Students should arrive at 9 am so they can be in class, ready to start their day at 9:05 am. Any students arriving after 9:05 am must be signed in by an adult at the office. We greatly appreciate your efforts to get your children to school on time on days when they are healthy. Click HERE to learn more about the benefits of arriving at school on time and suggestions for setting routines in the morning. | STEAM Night - Save the Date!STEAM Night is coming to OMS! A fun, hands-on, interactive night for ALL (young and old) to explore the world of Science Technology Engineering Arts and Math! Local businesses and community members will be present to show how STEAM is in our everyday lives. The 4th Grade concert will be held during the night as well! This event is open to all OMS families but to help us with our supply counts for some of our stations please let us know if you think you will be attending. To help us order materials and plan the event, please click HERE so we have an idea of how many people might attend. | Winter Weather Gear During these cold and snowy months, please make sure your child comes to school prepared to go outside with a hat, mittens, snow pants, and boots. We head outside to get some fresh air and play unless the wind chill is below zero. |
