The art department is looking to help you out while you are doing your spring cleaning. We are looking for the following items to be used for art:

Plastic lids (think water or soda bottle lids, milk lids, peanut butter lids, any type of lid, the more unusual, the better)
Larger Plastic containers- cottage cheese, butter tubs
Scraps of yarn, cloth, lace, ribbon, etc
Toilet paper and paper towel tubes
Puzzle pieces
Wire hangers
Old magazines & newspaper
Beads, shells, buttons
Tin cans- any size, think cans of corn, chilli, fruit, etc
Please rinse the food containers, cans or lids before sending them in. Thanks so much for your support

Graduation Info: Where and when is Graduation this year?

Graduation for both LHS and LNHS will take place on Sunday, May 17th at Independence Events Center.
(19100 East Valley View Parkway, Independence, MO 64055)
Liberty High Graduation will be at 2:30pm.
Liberty North Graduation will be at 7:00pm.

Psychology Field Trip Next Week!

On Thursday March 26 the Psychology class will be traveling to St. Joseph to visit the Glore Psychiatric Museum. We will be viewing many historical exhibits showing how society treated mental illness, artifacts used in the old Missouri State Asylum, and some items created in art therapy. The museum makes a great day trip and is 1 of 6 Psychiatric museums in our nation. If you are interested in learning more about the Glore Psychiatric Museum, visit the website


The Bowl-A-Thon is Saturday, April 11th from 1-3pm at Retro Bowl in Liberty! Cost is $20 per person (checks can be made out to "ACS") and this includes a t-shirt, bowling, shoes, and entry to win a door prize. Bowl-A-Thon sign ups must be received by Friday, March 27th in order to get the cool t-shirt! The cost is $20.00 and checks can be made out to "ACS." Use THIS LINK to sign up now!!

We have now passed the half way mark of the semester and 12 week grades are rapidly approaching. Please encourage your student to focus extra hard on getting their assignments completed and turn in to their teacher in a timely manner. Now is also a great time to check your students’ grades and contact teachers with any questions or concerns before it is too late.

Summer School Enrollment Continues...

*Summer school is June 1-June 26 at Liberty High School (for all students, Liberty North, Liberty High, and Liberty Academy students).
*Students can sign up for one or two classes. The morning class runs from 7:30am-11:10am and the afternoon class runs from 11:50am-3:30pm.
*Lunch is "on your own" from 11:10am-11:50am. Students are welcome to leave campus to eat or they may purchase snacks from a lunch kiosk (cash only).
*Attendance requirements are very strict. Students may miss only 2 days and will be dropped on the 3rd day absent.

Free Prom Dresses THIS WEEK

Find the perfect FREE dress at the 11th annual Woods Chapel United Methodist Church Prom Boutique! This prom boutique provides high school girls who may be struggling financially with the chance to "shop" for a free prom dress--no proof of financial need required! Girls attending the boutique can choose from more than 3,000 beautiful new or almost-new dresses, from sizes 0-32. Private fitting rooms available. Basic alterations will be available on site to ensure that each dress fits just right.

Sign up for Driver's Ed!

All parents want their students to learn the safe and correct skills for operating a vehicle. The Liberty Public Schools Driver’s Education Program is the answer. This program is offered during the summer months each year, starting about the same time as the summer school program. Students receive instruction from state certified, professional instructors, both in the classroom and behind the wheel.

Registration for this program is currently taking place and can be done so by clicking here! Students who are 15 years of age or older by June 3, 2015 are eligible to participate in driver’s education. Students will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Sign up today as space is limited!
