Golden Hills Mission

Golden Hills Eagles grow together, learn with passion, act with kindness, and change the world!

Message from the Principal:

Hello Golden Hills Families,

We are coming to the end of the second trimester. Report cards will go home on Friday, March 10th., Please take some time to go over your students report card with them. March 11th is National Strength Day, celebrate your students' successes! A perfect time to connect their hard work to their strengths.

On March 17th, Golden HIlls will have a growth parade. Families are invited to attend. We will line up and students will parade through with posters they have made of a growth they are proud of.

This time of the year is also when school districts begin planning for next year. The Palermo Union Elementary District will be holding parent LCAP (Local Control and Accountability Plan) meetings. A critical part of the LCAP is to work with families, and the community to make these plans. The plan will describe the school district's overall vision for students, annual goals and specific actions the district will take to achieve the vision and goals. We are looking for families to represent Golden Hills. If you would like to attend please call the school (530) 532-6000 or email Mrs. Napoli at knapoli@palermok8.org.

Mrs. Napoli

Message from the Counselor:

I’d like to introduce and warmly welcome our newest member of the Golden Hills team; our new School Counselor Mrs. Maggie Wilson. Mrs. Maggie will be on campus on Fridays since I’m only available M-Thurs. She will be running groups, teaching classroom lessons, and meeting with students individuals just like I do. Please be sure to say hello when you see her around.

All of our classes are getting lessons on Sportsmanship this month as part of their PE class. Couch D and I are teaching them about what it means to be a good SPORT (Say encouraging things, Puts people up (not down), Okay with losing, Respecting others’ ideas, and Thinking about others’ feelings). What a good lesson to learn!

All of the classes are also getting lessons on Internet Safety (Digital Citizenship). This is so important as so many of our children have access to so many different types of technology at such a young age. Students will be learning about the dangers and how to stay safe online and on social media. They will be learning about cyberbullying and what they can do if they see it happening to someone else or if it’s happening to them. One of the biggest messages that is taught during this lesson is to always talk to their parents/guardians if they are going to download a game, use a website, add a friend or do anything online. It is important to closely monitor your children’s online activity as there are so many scary things out there these days. I’m hoping to provide more information to parents on internet safety at our open house in May.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Rainbow
