A Whole New Mind
Book Group
Coming Soon...
Our first meeting to discuss the book "A Whole New Mind" by Daniel H. Pink is Friday August 30. We will meet after our district PD meeting at Sherlock's in Cottleville to grab some lunch and discuss our thoughts about what we read in the first section, pages 1 - 61.
Even if you can't make the discussions, I highly encourage everyone to read this book, especially new teachers. An easy and entertaining read, it will give you so much to think about and plenty of encouragement in one of the 21st century's most important occupations - a Fine Arts teacher.
Book Group Meeting #1
Reading #1: Part One: The Conceptual Age (pgs 1 - 61)
Thoughts as you read:
· Pink says “leading a healthy, happy, successful life depends on [using] both hemispheres of your brain.” How does using—or not using—both hemispheres of your brain affect your life, work, and society?
· Abundance, Asia, and Automation: How do you think these three areas have an influence on how we in the Fine Arts should be providing education to students?
