What is Cyberbullying?
Cyberbullying is bullying done online to threaten or intimidate someone.
Examples Of Cyberbullying
- Rumors/threats posted on social media sites.
- Embarrassing photos being sent around school and social media sites
- Fake accounts being made.
Three differences between cyberbullying & bullying
Bullying --- Cyberbullying
- Face to Face --- Online, behind a screen
- Power imbalance between bully and victim --- Bully or bullies can remain anonymous
- Physical size can play a role --- Size don't matter
Effects of cyberbullying
- changes in sleep and eating patterns
- loss of interest in activities
- miss, skip or drop out of school
- receive poor grades
- have lower self-esteem, and use alcohol and drugs for pleasure
Prevention & awareness
- Give rules and time limits
- Tell no one your password but your parents
- Don't say or do anything you don't want your classmates or other people to see
- Don't arrange a face to face meeting with someone you just met online
- Speak up and tell no matter what

- Be in a rush to let someone know the situation
