Week 2 Term 3 SFDS Newsletter

St Francis de Sales - 3 August 2021

TRACY'S MESSAGE

Kia Ora Ano

What an amazing matariki celebration breakfast we had last Thursday. It was truly wonderful to see so many learners and whanau connecting and having fun.

A new initiative we introduced last term is our school values cards. The learners earn these by living our school values. Each time a learner earns a values card, they earn a point for their house. These cards are collected and counted before each school hui which is every second Friday. The points go towards the house cup which is award to the winning house at every hui. One card is then drawn from the winning house and the winner receives a pass to the Empire Cinema – thank you to The Empire for their generosity! Last week’s winner was Frederick H and our very first winner last term was Isaac L.

House Cup winner: Siena (points earned from School Swimming Sports and values cards)

Congratulations to the following students who received a values certificate:

Isabelle M, Noah W, Jasmine M, Darcey S, Joshua H, Fia D, Liam W, Willow SE, Adam F, Luca G and Jakob R.

Principal's Cup winner: Frederick H

On a personal note - I have been overwhelmed with beautiful messages since Friday’s announcement that I will be leaving SFDS. Thank you for your kind words and aroha. I don’t think I’ve ever had so many hugs!

Take care and enjoy the rest of your week.

If you or someone you know is interested in participating in the sacrament of baptism this year, please email vanessa.mccormack@sfds.school.nz for more information.

GRANDPARENT’S MASS WEDNESDAY 29 SEPTEMBER:
