Lithium of Life
The element of Lithium
Learning about lithium
Li is the symbol for Lithium and lithium's melting point is 180.54 Celsius while its boiling point is 1,347 Celcius. Lithium is the lightest metal and is part of the Alkali Metals. Lithium's name is derived from the Greek word 'lithos' meaning stone.
Lithium burning
When lithium is burned it releases hydrogen gas which can then be lite on fire but it's normal state is a solid.
Element of lithium
I am lithium and I have 3 protons, 3 electrons, and 4 neutrons. It was discovered in 1817, by John Arfuedson. Lithium has 2 isotopes the biggest is 7 while the smallest is 6 and they both are half life's.
Lithium batteries
20% of batteries is lithium.
Lithium air conditioning
5% of lithium is used in air treatment.
Black lithium
Lithium is one of the few metals that reacts with nitrogen spontaneously. The metal is actually very shiny but it reacts with nitrogen in the air which is black so it turns black.
Lithium in igneous rocks
Lithium is found in igneous rocks and in mineral springs. Lithium has the highest specific heat of any solid element.
