People of Wales
The Welsh people are an ethnic group and nation native to Wales and associated with the Welsh lenguage. The Welsh lenguage was once the predominant language spoken throughout Wales. Indeed, its direct ancestor Old British was once spoken throughout most of the British mainland. While Welsh remains the predominant language in parts of Wales, most notably in the northern and western regions, in recent years English has become the most widely-spoken language in Wales.
