Night at the Museum
The students did such a wonderful job with Night at the Museum. Their hard work and practice really paid off. I was so impressed with how they really pulled off memorizing their lines. Their costumes looked great! Overall I was so amazed by your children, again!! Thank you parents and grandparents for attending and asking them some tough questions!!
EMS Presentation
The Emmet County Emergency Medical Technicians came in to class on Monday to share about their jobs as first responders and to teach the kids about 911. The students learned why they might need to call an ambulance and then what happens whey the EMTs arrive. It was a lot of great information and hands-on learning.
Field Trips
We have our two field trips coming up quickly. We will be going to Taquahmanon Falls on June 2 and Sleeping Bear Dunes on June 9. We will not be returning to Shay until 6:30pm for both field trips. I do need a signed permission slip by Thursday, May 26. Also, parents, if you are planning to help chaperone I need to know by the 27th. We are requesting $5 to cover the cost of the two trips. Please let me know if you have any questions. Both of these field trips cover concepts we've learned in science and social studies and are a ton of fun!
Parents, if you are planning to attend one of our field trips in June you need to be sure you've filled out our Volunteer Release Form. If you've already filled one out for the 2015-16 school year you are all set. If you haven't volunteered in the classroom or come on a previous field trip you will need to stop by the office to pick up a form or download one from our school website.
