Join CRLP Fresno State in association with CRLP Sacramento State for a RESULTS: Word Recognition and Fluency for K-2 Teachers Assessment, Instruction, and Intervention
This institute is also appropriate for Special Education, Reading Support Staff, and K-6 Principals
This workshop will provide participants with beginning reading assessments aligned to the CCSS Foundational Skills standards (including the new BPST-IV and Irregular Words Test), tools for determining instructional groups, and a framework for creating intervention lessons and enhancements to the core reading curriculum (We will be modeling with the new Benchmark materials).
Outcomes
Learn to administer and analyze most current BPST assessments which correspond to the Common Core Foundational Literacy Standards to improve instruction and student performance.
Acquire instructional strategies which correspond to the CCSS standards.
Become familiar with current and confirmed research related to the effective literacy instruction of English Learners and struggling readers.
Learn an instructional scope and sequence of teaching and learning foundational skills and how to utilize current resources to best support mastery of these skills.
