Publishing House Authors and Editors
Sycamore has a long-standing tradition of helping students publish stories for our school’s library through Publishing House. This week, confirmation letters will go to families to communicate their student's committment to take a story through the process of publishing. The writing of stories is a fully independent process, though we count on community volunteers to support our young authors in the final editing. Interested in helping with Publishing House? Contact Mrs. Stanger or Joanna Lord at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Parent Information Night: Sixth Grade Outdoor Science School
Each year, sixth grade students attend Outdoor Science School (OSS), a five-day, overnight experience to enhance students' knowledge of geology, ecology, plant and animal life, and the environment. This Thursday evening, sixth grade parents will be given information about the OSS curriculum and activities, as well as costs, staffing, housing, food, and registration forms for the trip. School-wide fundraisers and parent donations allow every student to attend. If you would like to contribute to OSS, please do so in the school office. All sixth grade parents are strongly encouraged to attend Thursday's important meeting. Outdoor Science School will be held March 2-6.
A Look Back at Service Day
Eileen Linchango, CHS senior and former Sycamore student, shared her story of service.
Students from the Equity and Inclusion Club helped peers make a variety of stress balls during Service Day.
Service for Nature
As modeled by the Little family, students prepared milkweed seeds, food for monarch butterflies.
Planning to Attend Kindergarten in 2020?
In order to inform soon-to-be kindergarten parents, each CUSD elementary school offers a Kindergarten Open House prior to kindergarten registration. Ours will be held on January 23 from 9:00-10:15 AM. All Open House dates are posted on the CUSD website along with detail about Transitional Kindergarten. Children born on or before September 1, 2015 are eligible to attend Kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year.
