PBL Introductory Workshop
Looking for some tools to engage students in relevant learning? Interested in a a strategy that works both virtually and face-to-face? This is professional development designed for you!
The Umpqua Valley STEAM Hub and Southern Oregon ESD are partnering to present PBL 101, an introductory three day workshop. This workshop is designed for teachers, school and district leaders and instructional coaches. The three sessions will be offered through PBLWorks. Explore their website at: www.pblworks.org.

This is an online event.
The workshop continues on November 5 and 6. The Umpqua Valley STEAM Hub will support substitutes if necessary. If you are not on contract, you will be paid for curriculum development time.
You can expect to:
- Gain the knowledge and skills needed to design, assess, and manage a rigorous standards-based project.
- Actively engage in project design and generate a project plan for your own use.
- Experience a blend of direct instruction, video analysis, hands-on work, resource sharing and peer collaboration and feedback.
- Access to online resources (including an in-workshop companion and post-workshop learning modules) that provide continued support beyond the workshop days for your PBL design and implement in the classroom.
