PBIS in Action at Oster
We are excited to announce the launch of our Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) initiative at Oster! As part of this program, we are dedicated to fostering a safe, respectful, and responsible learning environment for all our students.
To celebrate and reinforce positive behavior, our teachers will be recognizing one outstanding student each month who exemplifies these core values of safety, responsibility, and respectfulness. These students are shining examples of what it means to be a positive member of our school community, and we are thrilled to acknowledge their efforts.
We believe that by highlighting and celebrating positive behavior, we can create a school culture where kindness, integrity, and empathy are valued and celebrated. Together, we can continue to cultivate a supportive environment where every student feels empowered to succeed.
Oster's Girls on the Run
Girls on the Run Silicon Valley is a non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running. It is an elementary school program for girls in grades 3-5. Through fun running games, activities, and workouts, the program teaches girls life skills, equips them with tools for navigating the world, and prepares them to complete the end-of-season Girls on the Run 5K. Oster's team meets on campus twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays from 2:50 to 4:20 for 10 weeks. The season starts on March 4th. For more information visit the GIRLS ON THE RUN website or email Ms. Ferguson at fergusonj@unionsd.org

4th and 5th grade family volunteers needed for Frozen Friday
A favorite Oster Tradition, Frozen Friday, happens each week! Stop by after school on Fridays outside the cafeteria to purchase a frozen treat and hang with friends! All treats are $1 or $2. Small bills are appreciated or we can take ApplePay! OR, purchase a Frozen Friday Card here.
Did you know that starting with this new year, Frozen Friday is a Science Camp fundraiser (goal is to raise $6,000 each year, a BIG help to our 5th grade families). We are looking to you, 4th and 5th grade parents and guardians to volunteer - sign up here! Volunteering to help with Frozen Friday is a great opportunity to get involved with HSC and only takes an hour or so on Friday afternoon! And, if your 5th grader wants to help sell, they are welcome to fill a volunteer slot. Again, please sign up TODAY.
We are also looking for a new lead for this year and next. Again, all money raised goes to reduce the cost of Science Camp to our 5th grade families. If you are interested, please email: covphsc@osterhsc.org.Walk-a-Thon, Corporate Sponsorship Opportunities!
Oster's HSC offers sponsorship opportunities for select local businesses and organizations to support enrichment programs at Oster through our Walk-A-Thon.
