Educating every child for confidence today and contribution tomorrow.
A Message From the Principal
DHES Families,
What a fun Fifth Grade Performance on Wednesday night. The 5th graders did a great job singing, dancing, and showing off some of their great basketball dribbling skills! A big thank you to Mrs. Barker and Mrs. Davenport for leading such an exciting performance inclusive of a super glow in the dark musical, dancing finale. Way to go everyone!!
The end of the second Trimester is upon us. Report cards will be coming home on March 31st or presented during conference times. Please remember that March 23rd is a non-student day that has been set aside for purposes of parent-teacher conferences. This is a great time to learn about your child’s progress, and set our sights on finishing the year strong.
Conference time is also a good time to check the lost and found. We have quite a few items that will be missed soon. Monday, April 3rd, the remaining lost and found items will be donated to a local charity. Also, please remember to label your children’s items with their names. This allows us to help get things back to their rightful owners. Thanks.
As you know we have a Character Trait of the Month within the Dieringer School District. This month we are learning about Cooperation. Cooperation is about assistance and support, about collaboration and teamwork. It is a necessary tool in our toolbox for creating a community that cares for one another. Here is the definition we are using:
Cooperation: Working together and helping others.
A lot of messaging in our world would suggest that “doing it on your own” is a measure of success. And while independence is important, we must develop skills to work alongside one another and create things, together, that are better than anything we could create on our own. Over the course of the month, we will be creative in teams, accomplish amazing things side by side, and learn about what it means to do meaningful, PurposeFull work together.
Reminder: Daylight Savings begins this weekend. Spring forward Saturday night/Sunday morning.
Sincerely,
Kevin Anderson, DHES Principal

Students at DHES will be shopping during their library time and during lunch times throughout
the week. We highly encourage families to take advantage of eWallet as it makes it easier for
students to shop and significantly helps our volunteers keep the book fair moving smoothly.
Please avoid sending your student(s) to school with baggies of coins.
For both LTES and DHES students we are offering families the opportunity to send our book fair
volunteers an emailed shopping list (from the flyer books only) that we can fill and have
delivered to the students in class. eWallets will be required for payment (see ewallet
information below).
o Email for Shopping List: ptabookfair21@gmail.com
eWallets: these will be the best option for all students when shopping the book fair! We highly
encourage families to use the eWallet option for their students…all unused funds will become a
gift card to use at future fairs or online anytime.

From the School Nurse
Dear Families:
On Monday, March 20th, Community Health Care’s dental team will be at Dieringer Heights Elementary to provide exams, fluoride treatments, and dental sealants (for molars that have fully erupted and have surfaces for which sealants would be beneficial). If you would like your child to participate, please complete and return the permission form by March 10th. Permission forms will be sent home with your child. Participating students will bring home a written assessment of the exam findings and any additional dental needs. If your child is insured, Community Health Care will bill your insurance. If your child is not insured, all services are free!
Thank you,
Terry Woodall, R.N.
