Assuring learning excellence and readiness for a changing world.
Welcome Back!
Don't stop now! Continue to mask up, practice social distancing and wash your hands so we can stop the spread and get ALL students back in the building.
Return to Hybrid Learning Plan
Schedule for the Week of February 8 - 12
February 8 and 9 - no school, transition days
February 10 - distance learning only, asynchronous learning
February 11 & 12 - B group is in the building - synchronous learning days for all students
February 15 & 16 - A group is in the building - synchronous learning days for all students
On Wednesday, students should check their moodle courses for any assignments that may be posted. All students in grades 9-11 should take time to register for classes for the 2021-22 school year. The counselors have been sending information directly to students and families about registration. Please take time to look through the registration guide to see all of the courses that are available. Students should go into their Naviance account and look at the assessments they have completed such as the Career Interest Profiler. It is important for students to make informed decisions when registering.
Thursday and Friday our B students will be in the building, and on Monday and Tuesday our A students will be in the building. We are going to start out each of these days in our Scarlet Squads. Please check your schedule in Infinite Campus to see who your Scarlet Squad teacher is and which room you will report to.
Here is the schedule for February 11, 12, 15, 16:
Enhanced Hybrid Model
Enhanced Hybrid Model
We will continue to provide synchronous learning for all students upon our return to Hybrid based on increased participation and positive feedback.
Teachers will host Google Meets during each class hour. All students will be expected to attend the Google Meet at their scheduled class hour just as they are in our current distance learning model. This means that all students, distance only and hybrid, will attend class either in person or online at their assigned class hour on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Teachers will take attendance each class hour. Wednesdays will continue to be distance only days for all students when students can schedule individual meets with teachers as needed.
Attendance Information
Student attendance will be verified via attendance at Google Meets and/or through up to date coursework in Moodle and passing grades.
Reminder, parents/guardians should contact the school attendance line if their student will not be attending school either in-person or online for any reason, or if they have additional questions regarding attendance.
Schedule
We will continue to have the students broken into Group A, Group B, and Distance Only. We will follow the AA, D, BB schedule as before. Group A will attend in-person on Mondays and Tuesdays. Group B will attend in-person on Thursdays and Fridays. All students will follow this bell schedule. If a student is not attending in person, they should log in to their Google Meet at their normal class time.
A Message from Our Booster Club
Greetings Scarlet Families!
The cool, crisp air of winter have arrived; a new calendar year has begun. As in years past, Mankato West students are excited to learn and are engaged in various extra-curricular activities. Events of the past months have prompted many changes to school life and teaching methods. Scarlet students remain positive and inspired. As is our tradition, we are embarking on our Annual Booster Club Membership drive to garner support for arts and athletics. We are navigating historic change and uncertainty, and the value of your membership is immeasurable. Please join us as we work together to support our students!
YOU can make a difference! By supporting the Mankato West Booster club you are enhancing student participation in co-curricular activities at Mankato West High School! In the past years you have generously supported our Annual Booster Club Membership with a gift. Your donation, large or small, will help supplement the activities provided by the school by providing state of the art equipment and so much more!
In these uncertain times, working together, keeping our students our highest priority, and helping each other remains crucial. We hope you will lend your support. Donations can be mailed to: Mankato West Booster Club PO Box 1831 Mankato MN 56001, or online at: https://www.mwboosterclub.org/. THANK YOU very much for your kind consideration of our request!
Sincerely,
