Dress Code Reminder
Hello from the Fugett PTO!
End of the Year Events!
As usual, the PTO will provide pretzels from Philly Pretzel Factory as a snack for each grades’ Field Day. Please remind your student to bring a refillable water bottle that day.
8th Grade Field Day is Wednesday, June 8th and 6th Grade/7th Grade Field Day is Friday, June 10th. Click the link below to volunteer to help that day!
Thank you to everyone who donated to the Food Cupboard bin this year!! We collected over 500 lbs. of food. Thank you for being so generous. A HUGE thank you to Michelle Dolski for chairing the Philanthropy Committee for the past few years. She organized the food donation collections and the Gift Card Fund Drive.
Fright Night Committee
We are still in need of a few people to chair the Fright Night Committee! It seems like a large task, but if a number of people do it, it makes it easier. NO CHAIR, NO EVENT! Here is the committee description below:
Fright Night: This could be a two-person chair. (Many hands make light work!) The chair(s) of this committee oversee the event of Fright Night held in October. This is a well-oiled machine which has specific notes and instructions for it. The commitment is for September and October. It is mostly emails for planning and then in person for the week of the event.
If you are interested in this committee or just want more information, please email the PTO at FugettPTO@gmail.com!
COUGAR FOR A CAUSE
Please consider placing a donation for the Food Cupboard in the blue bin marked “Food Cupboard”, found in the main entrance vestibule. You are welcome to send them in with your child and have them place the items in the blue bin.
Items most needed are canned fruits and vegetables, peanut butter, jelly, canned meats, pasta, rice and beans and any toiletries. Any items that you can spare are always gratefully accepted. We continue this much needed service throughout the year. Thanks for your support!

Karen Best Citizenship Award
On Thursday night, May 19, Jack received the prestigious Karen Best Citizenship Award from the West Chester Exchange Club. Jack was nominated for the award by the Fugett Social Studies Department. Jack and his parents attended the reception at the West Chester Country Club in which one student from each of the six West Chester Area Secondary Schools was honored for the great work they do in school and the community at large! Jack received a check for $50 and a plaque in recognition of his work with… Science Olympiad, Math Counts, Future Cities, The Place to Bee, the Fugett Orchestra and of course all the efforts he puts forth on the production of the Fugett AM Announcements.
Congratulations to Jack and his family on this well-deserved honor.

We are excited to inform that the poem "That’s Not Alien" by Pranoy Muthaiyan , 7th grader from Fugett Middle School, was selected as the 1st place in the 6th-8th grade category. Christionna Jones won the First Scholarship award for her poem, "Art."
This E-Poetry Contest was sponsored by the West Chester Area Education Association, Chester County Art Association, and Young Rembrandts of Chester County. All poems were scored with a poetry rubric by a panel of judges from PA Writing and Literature Project. Over 150 poems were submitted this year.
Both students were recognized at the Barnes and Noble Poetry Celebration on Tuesday, May 17th.
The poems will also be featured in a district anthology book for each school building.

IMPACT BASELINE CONCUSSION TESTING
During the month of May, 6th graders will complete an Impact Baseline Concussion test during PE class. The tests are done on computers and will provide a baseline for the next two years at Fugett. The results are stored in an online database and if necessary, can be provided to parents and/or physicians if a student has a possible concussion.
