What we are learning this week?
This is the start of the 2nd nine weeks of 3rd grade!

Reading tips from Mrs. Mestemaker: Second and Third Grades
Math: Unit 3 reviews place value, multi-digit addition/subtractions, and problem solving. Students will be to the idea of rounding 2-and 3- digit numbers to the nearest ten and the nearest hundred.
Science: Stayin' Alive - In the second science unit we are going to dive right into different habitats and the animals that live in them. We start the unit by assessing what we already know about this topic, and then learn about a species in our neck of the woods. This particular species is called the Barton Springs Salamander. Please take a look below to learn more about this critter. We will start and end the unit with this little guy.

Math:
*Students completed their math test on Unit 2 on Friday. We still have some students that are working on their test and with that we will keep math homework simple this week.
Practice multiplication facts for at least 40 minutes this week!
Students should know their 0's, 1's and 2's at this point in the year. They will take their 10's fact test on Thursday.
