Cool Cat News
Principal Brief
September 5-8
Vanessa and I have loved being in your classrooms this week and seeing all of the Cool Cats engaged in learning! As you continue to design your lessons, remember The Fundamental Five are the five critical practices that are at the core of highly effective instruction.
These practices are:
- Frame the lesson
- Work in the Power Zone
- Frequent, small group, purposeful talk about the learning
- Recognize and Reinforce
- Write Critically
The use of Fundamental 5 can improve performance for every type, age, and group of student. It helps struggling students survive and compete in academic settings, addressing many RTI Tier 1 concerns. It also helps academically stronger students in achieving at higher levels.
PLC's are perfect to discuss seed questions and how your students can write critically.
Also - a big thanks for all the notes, phone calls, goodies, and texts checking on me while I took Jaxson to college last weekend. They all meant a lot to me! On Monday morning I felt a tear drop as I opened some sweet notes and saw some delicious donut holes and diet coke waiting for me. Thanks for the LOVE! Hartman is truly family!
I hope you have a wonderful long weekend!
