Liberty Parent Update
Liberty Elementary - Keller ISD
Apex FUN RUN
Apex Team members will be on campus every day from October 18-28th.
Please look for your child’s Pledge Kit that they will receive on October 18th. Please feel free to visit www.apexfunrun.com to hear about this interactive program that helps schools all over the country raise money, while promoting leadership and fitness in the classroom. This year's character theme is Apex LEGENDs!
The Apex Fun Run program is for every student regardless of financial giving. All students will receive Apex wrist bands, Apex race-day jerseys, team awards and participate in the Fun Run itself. We invite all parents to come to the Apex Fun Run and share in this great event! The times for the Apex Fun Run are as follows:

CEIC
Want to learn more information about Liberty? We are looking for our parents, community members and business members to be a part of our Campus Educational Improvement Committee (CEIC) this school year.
We will meet four times a year to review what's happening at Liberty and in Keller ISD.
Please email Janet Travis at janet.travis@kellerisd.net if you are interested in being apart of this committee.
Morning Mile
We have had a great start to Morning Mile this year.
Morning Mile will be held every morning from 7:15 am to 7:45 am, weather permitting.
Here are a couple of things to know:
- We are utilizing the track and the long grassy loop to the tree (at the back of the parking lot) as our track. This makes a 1/4 mile track.
- On days when the field is too wet: We will start using the track (and not the grassy loop to the tree). The track will then be an 1/8 track. Students will need to understand they will not get charms quicker because we are using the 1/8 mile track…you still have to run 5 miles for a charm.
- When parking to drop off students for MM, please park in the far back rows of the parking lot. This allows for easier in/out of parents dropping off and teachers arriving to work.
Please check the Liberty Elementary website http://campus.kellerisd.net/school/les-120 each morning by 6:30 am to confirm the status of Morning Mile. Adults must sign in children on the grade level clipboards. If you are interested in getting involved, email April Adams at aprilgadams@yahoo.com.

Presented by KISD’s Coordinator of Counseling
Intervention Services
Marcene Weatherall
October 25, 2016 from 1 - 2 p.m.
Hidden Lakes Elementary
Complimentary lunch provided by Palio’s Pizza Café - Keller
Thank you Palio’s Pizza!
It is never too early to talk to your kids about the dangers of drug, alcohol & tobacco use. This presentation by Marcene Weatherall will be a comprehensive presentation on the current trends in Keller ISD and will include ideas for starting age-appropriate talk on the topic of being drug-free. Also, due to the presentation topic and the graphic nature of some of the examples included, this will be an adults-only event, with no childcare available on site at this time.

Arrival and Dismissal Update
As we near the end of October, arrival and dismissal are much quicker.
We understand waiting in line to pick up your children, can be frustrating at times. Please use your patience with the process and with other parents. Thank you in advance for your patience.
Please take a moment to review the video in case you are unsure of the procedure.
Check out our youtube video on arrival/dismissal procedures by clicking this link: LES arrival and dismissal procedures video.
School hours are 7:55 a.m. - 3:10 p.m. Our doors open at 7:30 a.m. for students to enter the building.
Field Day coming soon!
Mark your calendar!
Fall Field Day on Friday, November 18th!
How can you help?
Fall Decorations – we need to make it festive! If you have old décor we will make it work! Looking for pumpkins(only send real ones the week of), hay, scarecrows, fake leaves,etc...If you have things you would like back please make sure your name and homeroom teacher’s names are on your items. If they are not marked we will consider it a donation. We are thinking events like dress the scarecrow, turkey trot, hay barrel hops, corn maze, football frenzy, etc…Imagination is the limit! Decorations can be sent to school through October to the PE office.
Decorators – Please come help us decorate the stations on November 18th at 6:30am.
Clean-up Crew – Help us clean up the day of fun at 1:30pm!
Please email Shelly Fore at spollardfore@yahoo.com if you can help volunteer either for decorating or clean-up. She will be making a list of volunteers. Thank you again for all you do to make this day special for the kids!
