Central Office Reports
During her board report, Dr. April Grace said the enrollment in the district's virtual learning option continues to rise. At this time, school is still slated to begin Aug. 13 as planned, and each week she consults with local health officials to reassess and determine if any changes need to be made to the Return-to-Learn plan. "We have offered all the options we think we can offer right now," she said. "I appreciate the commitment of everyone working in the district, and we are looking forward to continuing to serve our community."
Board Reports
April Stobbe reminded that the Student Investment Plan will be on the ballot on Aug. 25th.
Board President Keith Sandlin commended Dr. Grace for all the work she has done to prepare for the beginning of the new school year.
Larry Walker said he was amazed by what the school staff had done this summer to prepare for the upcoming school year. "I appreciate what each individual is doing, and the aggregate effort is obvious," he said.
Other Board Business
The Board also took the following actions during the meeting:
- approved all consent docket items
- authorized Dr. Grace to take all necessary actions, including but not limited to signing necessary documents, to effect the purchase of the following property on behalf of the Board: 728 W Ford St - Lot 9, Block 1 Fords 2nd Addition; 730 W Ford St - Lot 10, Block1 Fords 2nd Addition; and 802 W Ford St - Lot 11-13, Block 1 and Lot 1 Block 2 Fords Addition
- approved the employment of all personnel as presented
