About Mark Twain

Mark Twain a resident of Hannibal Missouri, was born in Florida Missouri on November 30, 1835. His real name is Samuel Langhorne Clemens. He got the name Mark Twain when working for a steamboat pilot. Mark Twain is a very famous author. He wrote and published more than thirty books in his lifetime.

On November 30th Mark Twain was born. He had six siblings growing up. Four years after he was born the family moved to Hannibal, Missouri.

When he was only 12 years old his father died. He became a printer's apprentice at age thirteen which was his first job.






Adult Life



Mark Twain married Olivia Langdon on April 21, 1910. Together they had four kids and only one survived, Clara. He became an author at age 30. When working for a steamboat pilot he got the name Mark Twain.

Accomplishments

In Mark Twain’s lifetime he made many accomplishments. Before becoming a writer, he worked as a miner in Nevada, and worked as a riverboat pilot. He wrote and published more than thirty books in his lifetime. Some of his books are shown below.
