Greetings PLA Families,

It's hard to believe that we are halfway through our first quarter of school. Our teachers and scholars have settled into an academic rhythm. Our Reading Advantage interventionists have been assessing scholars so that we can better assist them with their reading needs. We expect for the assessment phase to be completed soon and small groups to begin soon after.

Please remember that the front office will close daily at 2:00 for dismissal. All transportation arrangements will need to be made prior to this time. Scholars that are still in the building after 2:00 will follow regular dismissal procedures beginning at 2:20.

If your scholar will be absent from school, please call the front office at 317-226-4293 to report their absence. Feel free to leave a voicemail if your call is not answered or it is outside of business hours. To avoid confusion, we ask that you contact the office prior to notifying your scholar's teacher.

Just as a reminder: The school building will not open to scholars until 7:20 each school day. Walkers should adjust their time so they are not arriving to school too early. This is especially true as the weather begins to turn colder. Car riders should remain in their cars until a staff member has taken their temperature. Scholars will be marked tardy at 7:50.

Our Phalen Falcon H.S. football team takes on Crispus Attucks tonight at 7:00pm. Go Falcons!

We hope you all have a great weekend!

Mr. Hendricks
