6th Grade Ingenuity
A cafeteria-inspired speaker system built by one our budding 6th grade engineers.

News from the classroom
ELA 8 - We are continuing our analysis of horror and suspense literature. Students will also be writing their own scary, suspense, or adventure stories. Ask your son or daughter about their characters, central conflict, or story arc!
In Social Studies 7 next week, the students will use their chromebooks to settle Jamestown and answer the following question: Did Pocahontas Save John Smith?
Sci 7 - We are in the "Measuring Unit" So far students have practiced, metric prefixes, mass in grams, and volume in milliliters. Today they are practicing water displacement. This is how scientists communicate.
In English 7, students have continued to discuss and examine how culture, place, and time influence identity. Most recently, students created visual representations of how a central character was affected by these elements. See some examples below.
This year the All State concert will be held in Bloomfield at the PAC on November 5th at 2:00 pm.
- Next Monday, October 24th, student council will be hosting Halloween Candy Bingo after school in the Home and Careers room. If you’re interested, sign up outside the middle school office.
- There will be a Foreign Language Club meeting Tuesday, October 25th, after school in Room 204. All French and Spanish students, grades 7 thru 12 are welcome! We need to elect officers and plan activities.
- The next Middle School dance is Friday, October 28th, 7:00- 9:00 pm.
- Intramural Bowling begins on Monday, November 7th, after school, at Roseland Bowl, and is open to all Middle School Students. Cost is $7.00 per week and includes 3 games and shoe rental. It will continue for 10 Mondays, ending on Feb 13, 2017. Students are encouraged to come practice bowling, enjoy time with their friends and watch the Varsity Bowlers practice. For more information contact the Middle School Office.
8th grade Candy Bar sale will run from Nov 28-Dec 12. Any questions please see Mrs. Romagnola.
Yearbook Holiday Pie Sale. Just in time for Thanksgiving: Frozen 9” pies made from scratch (Apple, Apple Carmel Walnut, Very Berry,Pumpkin,Pecan), $15.00 each. Pies can be picked up at White's Market on November 19 between 9 – noon. Any Student that sells 15 pies will receive a FREE 2017 Yearbook. All checks payable to “The Torch." Please help support the Yearbook. Sale Dates are October 24 – November 15, 2017
News from the Athletic Director!
Modified Basketball news!
There will be an informational meeting for the Girl’s and Boy’s Modified Basketball Teams on Thursday October 27th in the Small Gym. Practice will begin on Thursday, November 3rd, at the Elementary School from 3:00-4:30.
Mr. Mastin has requested that we share the following information with you in our Pre-Season meetings, the link to the athletics calendar (http://www.waynefingerlakesleague.org/g5-bin/client.cgi) as well as the link to our new online activity registration site (https://bloomfieldcentral-ar.rschooltoday.com/). This site will allow Parents and Athletes to process all necessary paperwork electronically.
Bob McDaniel will be the boys Modified Coach and Sue Hoag will be the Girl’s Modified Coach. We are looking forward to a great Season.
