Description and Causes of Down Syndrome

There is no breif description of Down's, but it usually happens to women that have there children when whom is of the age 35 or above. Down Syndrome is a chromosomal disorder caused by an error in cell division that results in an extra 21st chromosome. Down's is not inherited, it's a genetic mutation. Some Symptoms of this birth disease are, a flat face, small ears, slanting eyes, small mouth, short neck, and short arms. But not all people with Down's have these symptoms. The more common ones are flattened facial features, and a small head.

Long term effects and treatments for Down Syndrome

Some long term effects of Down's is a small head and flattened facial features. Down syndrome begins right when the child is born. There is no specific treatment for Down Syndrome. But when a child is born and has Down's he or she will have to immediately need surgery and may need surgery for certain heart defects.
