Titus' Wall of Honor . . .
We will once again be creating a visual tribute to veterans from the families of Titus students and staff. At the beginning of November, the windows of the rotunda will be filled with pictures of military personnel. If you have a family member who served or currently serves in any branch of the military, please send in a picture of them along with their name, branch of service, wars fought (if any), student’s name and relationship to veteran. Please know that only adults will handle the pictures. We will scan them and return them to you. Pictures need to be sent to the office marked Wall of Honor by Monday, October 26th. Thank you!
Please note that if you sent in a picture in a previous year, you do not need to resend the picture. We keep them from year to year. If you need to update any information on the picture, such as additional children now attending Titus, please email Mrs. Schorpp.
Attention Active Duty Military and Retired Military Members . . .
You are invited to start your Veterans Day with the students and staff of Titus Elementary. We are extending an invitation to the family members of any current student or staff member who serve or served in the United States military to join us for a short (30 minutes) but powerful tribute to veterans on Wednesday, November 11th.
As we gather as a school, we would simply like to acknowledge the veterans in our families. If you can join us on November 11th at 8:30 AM, please RSVP by November 3rd to Mrs. VanVreede or Mrs. Niemeyer-Schorpp. An RSVP is necessary for our planning. Parents, due to limited space, thank you for understanding that this whole school gathering is for Titus students and staff as well as military members only.

Home & School Association:
Harvest Breakfast - Success!!!
Titus welcomed fall with its fourth annual Harvest Breakfast last Sunday, October 4th. Mrs. Tasey, Mrs. Boyne, and many others served over 600 meals; the school dining room was overflowing with the smells of pancakes, hash browns, and sausages. The Home and School Association decorated the room with haystacks and corn stalks, and Mother Nature cooperated by providing a nice chill in the air. Children were entertained with face and hand painting by teachers, as well as an arts and crafts table to make paper pumpkins and a candy corn figure. It was a fun way to spend a Sunday morning in October.
Fall Book Fair is Coming . . .
Don't forget the Home and School Association Book Fair! Did your children see the cool gift baskets? The only way to get a raffle entry is to attend one of the family nights, either Monday, October 12th, 5:00 - 6:30 PM or Wednesday, October 14th, 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Family night is a great opportunity to buy a book for your child's classroom. Look for the teacher wish list display at the fair.
It takes volunteers to pull everything together for the students that week, and we need your help. If you can spare some time to help out please visit our site on VolunteerSpot. Here you can see what time slots are available and sign up with one click.
For more information, including the students shopping schedule, please visit the Home and School Association web site.
