News and Updates from FSMA
Afterschool Clubs
One of the ways we can provide extra opportunities for our children is through enriching and engaging afterschool clubs. We find these are places for our children to try out something they might not have done before and see if they like it. For example, you may not think you are a Harry Potter fan but once you join the Harry Potter club and read it with some friends while making book inspired snacks, you might find out you like it. Or, if you are looking for a way to help your child track their memories, why not sign them up for Scrapbooking so they can learn cool techniques (maybe they will organize your family photos after this). Information about specific clubs is available on our website but topics include cooking, board games, choir, PE club and many others.
FYI - Cooking is full and PE Club is open to 3rd - 6th graders
Snowy Bears
Check out the bears that "live" outside our school! Winter made this a week full of possible delays and closings. Thankfully our system is up and running and we are working through a few of the glitches. We have added a few more places to find out about school delays so in the future, you can also look at:

SnoWatch - WDEL/WSTW

And remember, an indoor playground means we can go out more often but the winter elements are still there - hats, gloves and coats are needed for safety.

PTO's "Jumping for Joy" Event
On Monday evening from 6 - 8 p.m., the FSMA community will take over the Oasis Family Fun Center. This is a chance for children to get a little extra exercise and hang out with their FSMA friends...and a chance for adults to meet each other and make connections. Advance purchase tickets will be available until Monday morning!
Challenge for Adults: While at the event, introduce yourself to someone you haven't met yet (remember, we are all still getting to know each other!)
