Fulton Focus
For the parents and patrons of the Fulton School District
November 6, 2020
Whether in-seat or online, we'll "see" you on Tuesday, November 10!
Important Notes for FMS/FHS Temporary Closure
Buses will be running 12-15 minutes later in the mornings to account for not dropping off at High School and Middle School.
Double Bus Routes will only run the elementary school portion of the routes morning and afternoon. This will not affect the morning but students will be dropped off at home about 30-40 minutes earlier in the afternoon.
Please continue to report to our building attendance secretary if your child is exposed to or becomes positive for COVID-19.
As we receive more questions, we will provide more answers! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out!

Current in-seat students who would like to be considered for virtual instruction for 2nd semester, please complete the attached form. Students will be considered based on best educational interest. Please note: virtual instruction will require the student to log in daily to all of their classes and turn in completed work at least weekly in order to be successful.
Complete the attached form no later than November 18th at noon.
Middle and high school students need to talk to their counselor to determine the courses to be enrolled in.
Approval will be based on best educational interest.

Student’s work ethic
Student’s ability to work independently
Student’s ability to log-in daily and complete assignments
Parents will be notified by the building principal/counselor regarding the status of the application.
If students are enrolled for 2nd semester, they will have until January 12th to drop from Launch and return to in-seat instruction. After the 12th, the understanding is students will remain with Launch until May 27th.
All 2nd-semester virtual students are required to take state assessments in April. Buildings will be in touch with you about dates and times in late March or early April. Students will be required to come into the buildings to complete all assessments.
Launch teachers along with Fulton Public Schools staff will be monitoring student progress. Students who are not making progress and/or participating in their classes will be dropped.
Whether We Like It or Not, Winter Weather is on the Way!
School Closing Information
Winter weather will be here before we know it, and the Fulton Public Schools are preparing for the inevitable snow day. Officials consider many things when making decisions on inclement weather days; however, the final decision is always determined by what is best for the students. Student safety is the top priority of our school district.
Cancellation of School
As soon as the decision is made to cancel school, the district will launch the School Messenger phone messaging system to call the home or cell number you have provided the school upon enrollment of your child (if during the school day, an email and text message will be sent--not a phone call.) Please make sure this information is correct in our system. The district will also notify TV stations KOMU - channel 8, KRCG - channel 13, and KMIZ - channel 17. THE SCHOOL DISTRICT ASKS PARENTS OR GUARDIANS NOT TO CALL SCHOOLS OR TELEVISION STATIONS ABOUT THE CANCELLATION OF SCHOOL. The website address – www.fulton58.org - will be updated with early dismissal and cancellation notices as well as Facebook--Fulton Public Schools and Twitter-- @FPSHornets.
Early Dismissal
Occasionally, school will be dismissed early due to bad weather. If an early dismissal is required, an announcement will be made that school will be dismissed a specific number of hours early from the building’s normal dismissal time. School buses will run beginning at the dismissal time announced on those days school is canceled in midday.
Buses Running on Snow Routes
Snow routes will be updated in the next couple of weeks. Information will be sent home with all bus riders.
