SMCS Mission
Preparing and inspiring students to lead meaningful lives, rooted in the teachings of Christ and our Catholic tradition.
Greetings from the Principal
Dear St. Gabriel Families,
This past Wednesday, our hallways and classrooms were overflowing with love and happiness as we celebrated Grandparent's Day. How blessed were we to have had such an amazing turnout? From beginning this special day at mass, to ending in classrooms, I cannot even begin to express what an incredible and heartwarming event this was. Thank you to our generous PTO volunteers and to all our families for making this day so memorable.
We hope all our students have a safe, fun-filled day on Friday as our teachers are receiving professional development.
Have a blessed week,
Jennifer Giombetti

Grandparent's Day!
HALO Awards
HALO stands for Helping And Loving Others. When a student is seen doing something above and beyond normal expectations, they may receive a HALO award. HALO awards can be given for being respectful, being responsible, being kind, believing, or displaying leadership. HALO award recipients are shared each morning during announcements. We then display our awards on our HALO bulletin board for the entire month. Our September board is almost full! Thank you to all our students for helping and loving others!
Lunchroom Volunteer Incentive
Come and volunteer in our lunchroom! You can earn an out of dress code pass for the student of your choosing after you volunteer three times in the cafeteria! Please call the school office if you would like to volunteer!

Dress Up Day & The Feast of St. Gabriel
September 29th is the Feast Day of St. Gabriel. St. Gabriel is a messenger who delivered the good news of their impending births to Elizabeth and Mary. Gabriel's name means "the strength of God" as he is one of the strongest of all the archangels.
This week, we will have Mass on Friday, September 29th. We will NOT have Mass on Wednesday, September 27th. On Friday, the 29th, we encourage our students to dress up as one of the archangels. We will have a prize for all who participate!
We will have a gathering in Stingle Hall (our lunchroom) for the 3rd-5th graders immediately after mass. Our PK3-2nd graders will receive cookies after morning recess.

PTO NEWS
Let's fuel our teachers for the start of the school year! There are two opportunities to help.
Stock the teacher's lounge: An Amazon wish list has been created with our teacher's favorite treats! https://a.co/etllV7E You can either order directly from Amazon and everything will be delivered directly to the school, or purchase them locally and drop them off yourself. Either way is greatly appreciated. The list will be kept up to date so check back throughout the year as well.
Lunchroom Volunteers - Volunteers are always welcome to come and help with lunchroom and recess duties. Lunch times run from 11:40-12:40 with students split between the playground and lunchroom. If you would like to volunteer and have completed all VIRTUS and background check requirements, please don't hesitate to come in and help.
Monthly School Assembly
We will have a monthly school assembly which will focus on a particular theme and be led by a different grade level each month. Each assembly is approximately 10-15 minutes and takes place in the gym. Our first assembly will take place on Thursday, September 28th. This assembly will be led by our 3rd grade and will focus on respect . All are welcome!
Happy Birthday!
We will celebrate birthdays and half birthdays (for students with summer birthdays). Your child may be out of dress code on their birthday!
