The Epi Owl 'Hoot'

A quick look at what we've been doing this half term!

A note from Mrs Thorp

What a busy start to the year it has been so far, we have had Romans, Greeks and Vikings appearing around school and the school corridors have blossomed in to a showcase of work based on our school novel for this term, “The Secret Garden”. We have had trips to the zoo, the airport and the Akrotiri Environmental Centre, all of which have greatly enhanced the children’s learning experiences this term. I can’t wait to see how this develops further in the next half term.

The school council representatives for Key Stage Two have asked me if they can bring some warmer food, such as soup, in for brunch. I have agreed that they can do this as long as they have a proper flask and that the contents is not piping hot. Hopefully the warmer weather will reappear soon and soup will no longer be so attractive, but in the meantime I am happy for them to bring this in should they wish.

Can I please send a reminder that all children should be bringing a water bottle to school. They can fill and refill these from the water fountains at school, but they must bring in their own bottle.

This week is parent/teacher meeting week for years 1-6, and I hope to see as many of you there as possible. This is a really important opportunity for you to discuss your child’s progress and to ask any questions that you may have about their learning in the classroom. I will also be available should you wish to discuss any concerns directly with me.
