It has been a busy first month of the new school year and the McKinley Bulldogs are settling in nicely. Teachers have been establishing routines, procedures and expectations for their students, and Mrs. Ness-Manary, Mr. Klund-Schubert and I have talked to students in first through fifth grades about district policies and expectations. The beginning of the school year is a busy time and it can be exhausting to get into a new routine, but it's been nice to see how well everyone has adjusted. We are looking forward to great year of learning and growing.

McKinley spirit wear went on sale Thursday, October 13 and the sale will run through Friday, October 28. There are youth and adult sizes available to purchase. The first ever Booster Fundraiser was a huge success! The McKinley PTO would like to thank everyone for your generosity and support of the fundraiser. There were nearly 1,300 donors and donations were received from 34 states and 2 countries. The McKinley PTO will receive $36,200, which will be used to supplement the new kindergarten playground and enable the PTO to allocate funds to other school projects and incentives. The Fun Run culminated the week of fundraising, and since the students met their collection goal, several McKinley staff members had a pie thrown in their face by the highest earning students. Thank you again for your support of the PTO fundraiser.
