School Improvement
We've been working hard at GVE this summer, to help the outside of the school reflect the good things happening inside the school.
We hope you've noticed some of the changes at our school... but in case you haven't, I'd like to highlight some.
New Paint
A BGV paint crew of 3-6 staff have been working to paint our hallways white, doors green and get our school looking sharp.
Painted Stop Signs
Micheal Smith replaced our laminated signs with hand-painted signage in our hallways.
Facelift at the Entrance
Flowers were planted at our entrance, to complement the new paint greeting our guests.
Welcome
Johnny Haynes painted a greeting at our entrance, to show our school spirit and help make our guests feel welcome.
Green Lawn
Our grounds crew has been working hard since last Spring, to get our GVE front lawn watering issues resolved, and get our lawns green once again.
Fish Tank
Mrs. Amy brought in her fish tank, to brighten our entryway area and make our school welcoming.
Gym Painted
Mrs. Medrano-Hurtado painted our gym walls, and our paint crews supported her with a second coat and some finishing touches.
Playground
Our playground was thoroughly swept & weeds were removed before school started. Parent volunteers power-washed the walls of our playground to get it looking clean. Mr. Aquiso put several loads of rock into the areas that had gotten sparse, while Mrs. Amy ordered our student's new playground balls and equipment. Our plans for this year are to re-paint the lines on the blacktop areas... so if you know of any groups that need community service hours, please let me know :)
