What's Going On This Week:
- Ms. Harris' Science: In Science this week we are starting to review for our PASS test in 2 weeks. This week we are reviewing scientific inquiry skills, quantitative/qualitative data, and light/sound unit. I’m encouraging students to go back through their IAN and look at past notes and study guides to help them study. They can also use the tech book or any of the symbaloo pages found on my website.
- Ms. Shipp's Social Studies: This week in social studies we will finish our discussion on the major battles of the Civil War. We will also discuss African Americans roles during the Civil War. There will be a quiz on the battles, Friday, May 5th. Students should read over notes and continue to read PASS review notes for the upcoming test on May 17th.

We also will be discussing goals for next year in our guided reading groups, as well as reviewing previously taught concepts. In writing we are reviewing for our SC Ready testing next week.
- Ms. Harris' GT Math/ELA: In math this week, we are reviewing all past concepts in order to prepare for next week's testing. Students will still have their weekly review due each day. On Wednesday they will take a multiplication timed test for a grade. In ELA, we are exploring the art of M.C. Escher and his work with tessellations. Students will be creating their own tessellation throughout the week. On Thursday we will have our last Socratic Seminar on one of his art pieces. Testing!
- Next week starts our End of the Year Testing. Last Wednesday I sent home envelopes in Wednesday folders about encouraging notes I'm asking parents to write to their children. Please return those back to me no later than Wednesday. I just want to make sure each child has a letter ready for them by our first day of testing.
- Also, a HUGE thank you to everyone who has signed up to send in treats next week. I know the students are going to enjoy them. There are a few slots still open, though. If you are able to send in a small treat/drink for the students to enjoy after testing, please sign up on the link below.
Field Day Volunteers!
We are in desperate need of field day volunteers.
We are only 3 weeks away and we are in need of at least 40 more volunteers. Some stations, especially in the afternoon, do not have anyone signed up yet.
