E-Newsletter of the Nantucket Eco Group

Logos, locations and logistics

In the early days of the Nantucket Eco Group's planning of its first-ever signature event, SpringFest 2016, we formed subcommittees to get the this event off the ground and determine the larger mission of the group. The Media-Marketing Committee cooked down an excellent logo, created this newsletter, a back-office secret Facebook group, a public Facebook page, social media hashtags and handles, and is currently working on advertising ideas. They hope to have a draft logo by the end of January

The Location Committee found the perfect event site, the Logistics Committee is well on its way to organizing parking, setup/break down, a police detail and setting up the zero waste station.

Our first annual

The Nantucket Eco Group is a diverse group of Nantucket dreamers, thinkers and doers, bringing to light sensible earth-friendly living from the ground up through food, art and education.

Being a year-round island community, we recognize that Nantucket’s natural resources are finite, but her citizens’ ideas are infinite. From this unique perspective, we’ll come together in learning how to take less from our Nantucket while returning more for the greater good of all islanders.

Through the Eco Group, you are as likely to connect with beekeepers and learn their craft as you are to discover the benefits of composting, growing your own food, keeping chickens, foraging for wild edible plants, learning about and planting native species on your property, alternative toilets, affordable renewable energy solutions, new island locales to paint, photograph and sculpt, drastically reducing your waste stream, water conservation, yoga and meditation.
