Academics
Science- This week we will solve the "lights on a string" problem (when one light bulb goes out, they all do!). We will also build electromagnets. Students will bring home their science notebooks this week to prepare for the Electricity Quiz.
Reading - Last week we began taking notes on what we read in our informational texts. We used "boxes and bullets" to determine the main idea and supporting details. We will continue with this strategy this week. We will then consider the whole text and try to determine the central message. This is important work we are doing, and we will take extra time to make sure students get the practice they need!
Writing - This week in Nonfiction Writing, we will plan categories of information for a nonfiction topic that we will write about, record everything we know about the topic and find the best way to convey the information clearly.
