WOW! It's starting to feel like summer...finally! We are still in high gear with our learning, but the year is definitely winding down. Here's a peek into the next week or two.
During Reader's Workshop time we are reviewing strategies and working on deeper thinking comprehension skills. Please continue to have your child read every night, if at all possible. I realize it can be challenging with sports and activities. Even a few minutes in the car is helpful. Mrs. O'Connell talked to the class last week about summer checkout. Students can check out 5 books for the summer with parent permission. Let me know if you need more details!
Our Unit 9 test was this morning. We will be working on Unit 11 this week. Unit 11 is called 3-D shapes, Weight, Volume, and Capacity. There are no more unit tests this year. Unit 9 was the last one!
In Writer's Workshop, students are creating Author's Choice pieces. Students can choose the topic or type of writing they want to complete. As a whole class, we are working on the writing process, citing sources, sentence fluency and conventions of writing.
